Wegweiser

Your data is stored in the UK, and the AI that reads it can be yours

Wegweiser runs on a private cloud in the UK. Its analyses are written by Anthropic's Claude unless you choose another AI, and Claude may process them outside the UK and the EU. Claude on your own AWS Bedrock account, a provider in Germany or your own models keep the analyses and the chat where you choose. A case still runs on Claude at Anthropic, and from today it leaves your DocuVault documentation out.

Wegweiser runs on a private cloud in the UK and stores everything it collects from your clients' machines there. Since 12 October the pricing section of wegweiser.tech has said so in English, German and Japanese.

By default Anthropic's Claude writes the analyses, and Anthropic may process them outside the UK and the EU. A client in healthcare, a public body or anyone whose contract names a region may need them kept closer.

Choose where the AI runs

A master sets this under Configuration > AI Provider, with one form for the chat and one for the analyses. Three choices keep the work in a region you pick:

  • Amazon Bedrock: Claude on your own AWS account, in the AWS region you enter, where Amazon offers the model there.
  • IONOS AI Model Hub, hosted in Germany.
  • Ollama: your own models on your own servers.

The analyses and the chat then go only to that AI. When a low score is checked a second time, the second pass runs on the same provider.

On your own key or your own models the model calls cost no Wegcoins. A plan still pays for the platform, and scans, monitors and report copies still cost Wegcoins.

A case still runs on Claude at Anthropic

A case is the deep investigation a technician starts from the device chat. It runs on Claude at Anthropic whichever AI the rest of the tenant uses: on your own Anthropic key if you've set one, and on ours otherwise. The composer now says so before you write the brief.

Writing this post, we found that a case broke a promise on the DocuVault page: your documentation goes to the AI this tenant is configured to use, and no other. A case read DocuVault the way the chat does. On a tenant using Bedrock, IONOS or its own models, it sent that documentation to Anthropic.

From today a case on such a tenant doesn't read your documentation. The DocuVault page says so, and no longer claims that your own key keeps it on your infrastructure: an OpenAI key sends it to OpenAI.

The landing page made the wider version of that claim. Until today it said that with your own models "nothing leaves". It now says the analyses and the chat stay with the AI you chose, and names the case as the exception.

Wegweiser can run in your own cloud
