Machines added mid-month now bring their Wegcoins with them

From today a machine that joins a plan during the month is charged pro rata the next morning, and its share of the plan's included Wegcoins arrives in the same pass, so onboarding a client on the 2nd no longer drains the allowance of the machines you already had. A machine that stops checking in leaves the bill after 31 days instead of 45.

From today, a machine that joins a Wegweiser plan during the month is charged for the rest of that month the next morning, and its share of the plan's included Wegcoins lands in your balance in the same pass.

Until now the count waited for the 1st. Enrol a new client's 10 machines on 2 November and they'd have run free until 1 December.

They'd also have brought no Wegcoins until then, so their first passes, 69 Wegcoins for a full pass on a Windows machine on Opus, came out of the allowance of the machines you already had. When that ran out, analyses paused across the whole tenant until the month turned or you bought a pack.

Here's how it works out on Standard at £4 a machine. You start November with 3 machines, so the renewal on the 1st is £12 and brings 270 Wegcoins. The 10 new machines check in on the 2nd. At 03:40 UTC on the 3rd the count is 13, with 27.85 of November's 30 days left: Stripe invoices about £37 at once, and 836 Wegcoins arrive. On 1 December the renewal is £52.

A machine is charged once a month. If one drops out of the count and comes back before the month ends, it's already paid for. Nothing is refunded mid-month either: a machine you retire stays paid for until the renewal.

That renewal comes sooner now. A machine counts while it has checked in within the last 31 days, down from 45, so a retired one leaves the bill at the next renewal instead of possibly the one after.

The charge for added machines is an invoice of its own, raised by Stripe the morning they're counted and collected the way your plan is, by card or SEPA direct debit. The statement on the Wegcoin Bazaar shows each month's machines with how many joined during it, and the amount including those charges.

A plan we set up for you by hand isn't charged during the month, and its Wegcoins still arrive on the 1st.
